The non-metallic mining sector in Palestine is characterized by a diverse array of limestone and dolomite deposits. The demand for lime oxide is driven primarily by the local construction industry and the need for chemical stabilizers in soil treatment.
Due to the arid and semi-arid climate, the region faces significant challenges regarding soil acidity and mineral leaching. This makes the strategic use of calcium oxide used in agriculture essential for maintaining crop yields and enhancing nutrient absorption in the West Bank and Gaza areas.
Currently, the manufacturing of lime products in the region relies on varying levels of technology, with a growing shift toward importing high-reactivity lime quicklime to meet the stringent purity requirements of modern industrial processes.
