About Perlite sand/powder:

Perlite is a vitreous rock formed by rapidly cooling acidic lava from volcanic eruptions. Perlite includes perlite, obsidian and turpentine. The difference between the three kind of perlite is that perlite has a circular arc crack formed by condensation, called perlite structure.The water content of it is 2~6%. The turpentine rock has unique turpentine luster and water content of it is 6-10%. Obsidian has a glassy sheen and shell fracture, and the water content of it is generally less than 2%.

Perlite sand/powder usages:

Perlite sand can be used as filling material in rubber and plastic products, pigments, paints, inks, synthetic glass, thermal insulation bakelite and some mechanical components.It can be used in water treatment as a filter aid.

After expanded,perlite becomes a new kind of light and multifunctional material. The characteristics of perlite are light apparent density, low thermal conductivity, good chemical stability, a wide range of temperature, small moisture absorption ability, and non-toxic, tasteless, fire, sound absorption.It is widely used in a variety of industrial sectors.
